this is the final lamination layer of the coaming dry fitted prior to glueing. I prefinished the lower sections because this final piece overlaps the lower sections by a half inch on the outside. It would have been impossible to get a brush underneath the overlap to get those areas finished neatly. For the same reason, I will prefinish the underside of this top piece before installing.
